Job Description

 Supervise all lifting operations involving cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other lifting equipment.  Ensure that lifting is carried out as per the approved lifting plan and permit-to-work system.  Coordinate closely with crane operators, riggers, signalmen, and other personnel involved in lifting.  Review and verify lifting plans and method statements for critical and non-critical lifts.  Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks prior to lifting activities.  Ensure selection of proper lifting gears, slings, shackles, and equipment for the task.  Enforce compliance with local regulations (DOSH Malaysia), industry standards, and company safety procedures.  Immediately stop any unsafe lifting operation and rectify issues before proceeding.  Conduct pre-lift inspections on lifting equipment and accessories.  Maintain accurate records of lifting plans, checklists, permits, and inspection reports.  Assist and provide input on any incident/near-miss reports.  Ensure proper certification of lifting gear, operators, and riggers.  Ensure all personnel involved in lifting operations are trained and competent.  Participate in training programs and refreshers on lifting and rigging safety.  Participate safety, lifting audit as and when required.  Liaise with the site manager, HSE team, client representatives, and crane vendors for all lifting operations.  Attend site coordination and safety meetings when required.  Carry out colour coding for all lifting gears as per CLIENT/OWNER’s schedule.
